Montana Fishing License Age
The MT fishing license age starts at 12. Under 12 = free (no license, conservation, or AIS pass needed). Youth 12-17 pay $10.50 total. Seniors 62+ pay $16.50.
Special Permits
- Paddlefish Tag: $6.50 res / $15 NR — required for paddlefish (Missouri River, Fort Peck)
- Bull Trout Catch Card: FREE — required in specific waters where bull trout angling is permitted
