Surf Fishing Plate Delaware — Complete Guide
The Delaware surf fishing license plate is unique to DE. It allows you to drive on designated beaches at Cape Henlopen State Park and Delaware Seashore State Park. Costs $90/year for residents ($80 for 62+), $180 for NR ($160 for 62+). The plate doubles as an annual state park pass.
⚠️ Off-peak surf plates ($70 res / $140 NR) — which restrict vehicle access on peak weekends — will be discontinued after 2027. Get the full surf plate instead.
Delaware River Fishing License
The Delaware River fishing license depends on which bank you're standing on. From the DE side = DE freshwater ($8.50). From the PA side = PA license. From the NJ side = NJ license. Check Pennsylvania or New Jersey for reciprocal border-water agreements.
Boat Fishing License Delaware
There is no separate boat fishing license Delaware. Just your standard freshwater or saltwater (free) license covers boat fishing. Boat registration is handled by DE Division of Motor Vehicles, not DNREC.
